14 DAY TRIAL // Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow on HBO’s hit series “Game of Thrones,” is following up this project with the epic “Pompeii,” out next year but, at the same time, he’s also in talks for the Reed Richards role in a planned “Fantastic Four” reboot.
Nothing is set in stone right now, but Variety reports that at the very least, Harington will read for the part. Also considered are Jack O’Connell and Miles Teller.
The same trade publication reports that the role of Sue Storm could go to Saoirse Ronan, Kate Mara, or Margot Robbie.
“Michael B. Jordan is the only actor currently being mentioned as a possibility to play Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, but that could change,” Variety writes.
The film will be directed by Josh Trank, whose most recent and incredibly popular work was “Chronicle.” A release date is yet to be set, but the movie studio is hoping for an early 2014 start production date, so perhaps the best bet for a theatrical release is mid- to late 2015.
The idea is to get young, up and coming stars on board and to build a new franchise around them, the aforementioned media outlet notes.
