Second blooper reel for season 4 of “Game of Thrones” doesn't disappoint

Production on “Game of Thrones” is comparable to a Hollywood feature film from a financial standpoint, the HBO show being the only TV program shooting simultaneously in several locations, with different production crews.

When shooting for a new season commences, everyone involved knows to expect grueling working hours and dire conditions. Some actors also start work knowing that they will have to shoot their character’s death scene soon, because nothing is more uncertain in the “Game of Thrones” universe than life itself.

Thought it’s a show where violent and graphic scenes are common occurrence, the actual production isn’t at all grim. HBO released a first blooper reel for season 4 at Comic-Con San Diego last year, and now a second one is out.

It was included in the Game of Thrones Exhibition and is now available online - and in the video below. Seeing characters that are usually ruthless and despicable on screen giggle or unable to keep a straight face while delivering a line comes as a pleasant surprise for fans of the series.

Speaking of which, a new season, the 5th, premieres in April, so take today’s offering of the season 4 blooper reel as a reminder of that. George R.R. Martin, author of the “Song of Ice and Fire” series of novels on which the show is based, has recently said that it will probably end before he gets to put his final novel out.
