Never before “Game of Thrones” has there been such an incredibly annoying character as King Joffrey, he who calls himself King of the Realm but is actually one huge and super cruel brat who doesn’t even deserve to sit on the Iron Throne.

Don’t think that the people at HBO, who have turned George R.R. Martin’s books into one of the biggest television series of our times, don’t know this: in fact, they’re capitalizing on it by inviting you to mock King Joffrey to your heart’s content.

The only condition is that you do it in 140 characters or less because this roast is only possible on social media. Joffrey would have your head on a spike if you said those things to his face, clearly.

Portrayed on the show by the very talented Jack Gleeson (who sadly announced he’d be retiring once he’s done with “Game of Thrones”), King Joffrey stands out as the one character on the series whom no one is rooting for.

The universe of “Game of Thrones” is populated with countless villains and characters who switch camps depending on the context, but Joffrey is all-bad, all-cruel and, yes, all-annoying. A good roasting is just what he needs or, depending on how you look at it, what the fans of the show need to vent a bit.

Embedded at the end of this article is HBO’s invitation to roast Joffrey. You can do so on Twitter under the hashtag #RoastJoffrey and, if you come up with something really good, your tweet will be retweeted.

Huffington Post has summed up some of the most hilarious tweets, and they include gems like, “Remember when we all loved Joffrey? Neither do I,” which comes from Jon Snow under the handle @JonSnowBastard or “Every time Joffrey played in the sandbox, the cats would try to bury him,” which is a tweet from Tyrion Lannister, Joffrey’s uncle, the Imp.

Because there was no limit to the things fans could do or say, memes also sprung like mushroom after the rain, one funnier than the other.

You don’t get any points for guessing what Joffrey’s reaction to all this was because it probably went something like this:
