Developer Phil Hassey released Galcon for iPhone and iPod touch a while ago, pricing it at close to ten bucks. Later on, Galcon saw a substantial drop in price, down to $4.99 (the fee users currently have to pay for the app), while a Lite version was also released recently. The latter is free to download and play on your iPhone or iPod touch.
According to its maker, “Galcon is an awesome high-paced multi-player galactic action-strategy game.” The player's goal is to send swarms of ships from planet to planet, so as to take over the galaxy. According to those who've had a go with it...

Some of the main features of Galcon include Multi-Player capabilities (Local and Internet-wide), with the ability to play against thousands of players world-wide; five diverse Single-Player missions; players ranked on galcon.com; music and sound effects; a Color Blind Mode, and a Netplay option to compete with up to four humans over Wi-Fi, EDGE, or 3G. Galcon Lite includes the Classic mission from Galcon.
