14 DAY TRIAL // Last week, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung was said to plan the launch of two new smartphones on the market in India, and both of them are now available for purchase in the country, namely the Galaxy Win Duos and Galaxy Fame Duos.
The two new Samsung smartphones can be seen listed on Flipkart’s website, one featuring a price tag of Rs. 17,900 ($333 / 253 Euro), while the other is priced at Rs. 10,900 ($203 / 154 Euro). Both smartphones feature dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) with dual-standby capabilities.
As fonearena notes, the Samsung Galaxy Win Duos (GT-I8552) has been listed at this retailer as the Galaxy Grand Quattro. Other retailers, such as Snapdeal, list it as Galaxy Win Duos.
Unveiled to the world in April, the smartphone packs a 4.7-inch TFT touchscreen capable of delivering an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, as well as a 1.2GHz quad-core processor packed inside.
The device also features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, and also a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.
Furthermore, it arrives on shelves with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, capable of recording videos in 720p resolution, as well as with a front camera for making video calls.
The specs list of this handset also includes 3G (HSDPA 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA 5.76 Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, GPS receiver, a 2000 mAh battery, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.
Samsung Galaxy Fame Duos (S6812), on the other hand, arrives on the market with a smaller, 3.5-inch screen that can deliver a 480 × 320 pixels resolution, and features only a 1 GHz processor inside.
The smartphone also packs 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, 1300 mAh battery, support for 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps networks, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and GPS receiver.
On the back, Galaxy Fame Duos sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, paired with a VGA front camera. The smartphone runs under Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as well.
