Samsung Galaxy Tab, the first Android-based tablet PC from the South Korean mobile phone maker, is expected to make an appearance on the market in the UK on November 1st, but no official info on its pricing emerged for the time being.

Of course, the device would be marketed in the UK via major wireless carriers in the country, which means that we should see various price plans put in place for it, but nothing was said specifically on the matter until now.

However, the guys over at Pocket-lint say they managed to lean how much the Android-based tablet PC would cost if purchased contract free, namely £599.99.

One thing that is certain here is that the upright cost of Samsung's slate seems to be a little higher than originally expected, especially when compared to rival solutions.

For example, the Apple iPad 16GB 3G version is priced at £529, and some might have expected for Samsung Galaxy Tab to be priced lower.

One the other hand, some might have expected for this leveraged cost to be put in place, especially after learning the cost of the tablet on the Australian market.

Even so, since the Android tablet PC would be released in the UK via wireless carriers, one should expect for it to be available with various subsidies attached to it,making things a little more appealing than this.

If history repeats itself, we might see the slate priced similarly as in Sweden, where Telenor made it available for pre-order for free on a two-year contract.

Since Galaxy Tab would land in the UK via more than one wireless carrier, chances are that this would happen so, but we wouldn't bet too much on this, that's for sure.

With November 1st approaching fast, we should learn some more info on Galaxy Tab's pricing in the near future, so stay tuned to learn the news.
