Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has just announced the upcoming availability of Samsung Galaxy Tab on its airwaves, starting with November 11th, and unveiled that the Android-based tablet PC would sport a price tag of $599.99 when made available.

The new device is powered by Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and sports a 7-inch touchscreen display, complemented by a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application processor that Samsung packed inside it.

Among the main features of the new device, we can also count the fact that it would come with support for Adobe Flash 10.1 for video and mobile gaming, as well as with enough storage space to enable users carry around favorite music, photos or videos.

“This is an incredible time in mobile technology, and as a company we're excited to add the Samsung Galaxy Tab to our portfolio,” said Marni Walden, vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Wireless.

“The Samsung Galaxy Tab brings together the reliability of Verizon Wireless' 3G network and the power of Android 2.2 to deliver on our promise of providing consumers and business customers with a host of options to help manage their lives.”

Moreover, starting with November 11th, Verizon customers would have to opportunity to enjoy a series of specific applications on the new device, the wireless carrier announced.

Among these apps, we can count V CAST Music and V CAST Song ID, along with Kindle for Android, BLOCKBUSTER On Demand presented by V CAST Video, Slacker Radio, or VZ Navigator, as well as the exclusive golf game, “Let's Golf.”

“In addition to text, picture and video messaging, the Samsung Galaxy Tab will also feature V CAST Apps, Verizon Wireless' mobile storefront offering hundreds of applications for businesses and consumers at launch,” the wireless services provider announced.

According to the company, customers interested in the purchase of this tablet PC should be able to add a monthly access plan that starts at $20 a month, for 1 GB on their Samsung Galaxy Tab.
