Following the announcement regarding the upcoming launch of Samsung Galaxy Tab on the United States market via all four major carriers

in the country, news on the Android tablet being headed for Canada also started to emerge.

At least two carriers in the country are set to make the Galaxy Tab available for purchase for their customers, it seems, including Bell and Rogers.

For the time being, these two wireless services providers are the only ones to have announced officially the upcoming launch of Galaxy Tab, but chances are that others would also follow suit.

“We’re thrilled to tell you that the Samsung Galaxy Tab – Samsung’s first tablet – will be coming to Canada on Rogers later this year,” the wireless carrier announced officially via its red board.

“As the Canadian carrier with the most tablet customers, we’re excited to carry the Samsung Galaxy Tab on Canada’s reliable network. Tablets are among today’s hottest devices – they let you connect with information, entertainment and other content in new ways – at home or on the go,” Rogers continues.

As for Bell, it already put in place a webpage where its customers can register their interest in the new device so as to be informed on Galaxy Tab's availability and pricing.

In case there are some who might have not heard of Samsung Galaxy Tab before, we should mention that it comes to the market as the phone maker's first Android-based tablet.

Sporting a 7-inch display (1024x600 pixels), a 1GHz processor, 3.2 megapixel snapper and 1.3MP front facing camera and a great deal of storage space, the device runs under Google's Android 2.2 operating system and boasts support for Flash Player 10.1.

Its features list also includes: - Readers Hub - Samsung's unique e-reading application provides easy access to a vast digital library - from classical literature to the latest bestsellers and reference materials. Samsung Readers Hub consolidates e-reading applications such as eBooks, magazines, and newspapers. - Media Hub - The Galaxy Tab makes the perfect vehicle to watch your favourite TV shows and movies. - Social Hub - An ultimate and integrated inbox that links contacts from across various social networks and aggregated messages into one seamless platform - ensuring users stay connected with their favourite contacts. - Content Sharing - The Galaxy Tab allows users to share multimedia content with other DLNA-ready (AllShare) devices allowing users to combine devices for internet access, games and document sharing.
