Australian wireless carrier Tesltra is reportedly gearing up for the release of at least two new tablet PCs that would run under Google's Android operating system, one coming from Samsung, and another one from Motorola.

Rumor has it that the company would be set to have the yet-unannounced Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet PC available for purchase for its customers in the coming months, and that it would also aim at making a similar move with the Motorola XOOM 2 device.

Some of the latest rumors on Samsung's roadmap did suggest that the company was preparing the release of a new tablet PC based on Android, and that it would sport a small touchscreen display, though it would be a bit larger than the original Galaxy Tab.

Dubbed Galaxy Tab 7.7, the tablet should be officially introduced as soon as this week, during the IFA 2011 conference in Berlin, and would sport a 7.7-inch touchscreen display, obviously.

Rumor has it that the device would sport a 1024 x 600 pixel display, and that it would be running under Google's Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system.

Moreover, it appears that a new Motorola XOOM model is also getting ready for prime time, and that Tesltra would be one of the wireless carriers which will make it available for purchase in the near future.

The Motorola XOOM 2 is rumored to be on its way to Australian shelves sometime around Christmas, though the official announcement on its release should emerge much sooner than that.

Previous rumors also suggested that Telstra was on its way to add the recently unveiled Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE tablet PC to its lineup, but nothing was officially confirmed on this either.

However, since Samsung is expected to bring this device to IFA as well, chances are that more on its availability will be announced there, and that Telstra will have something to say on this too. (via)
