14 DAY TRIAL // Galaxy Tab, Samsung's Android 2.2 tablet PC, is expected to land in users' hands $50 cheaper during this week, courtesy of a series of specific Black Friday deals that retail partners for US wireless carriers have put in place.
Currently available for purchase via all major wireless carriers in the country, the Samsung Galaxy tab should receive this price cut at least at two carriers, namely Sprint and Verizon.
The deals should be put in place via said retail partners, at least when it comes to the Sprint version of the tablet PC, though the price cut applies only to the contract cost of Galaxy Tab, it appears.
To be more specific, this week will offer users the possibility to purchase a Galaxy Tab at $349.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with Sprint, $50 cheaper when compared to the $399.99 regular price tag the slate sports at the wireless carrier.
We should also mention that the purchase would require users to commit to an agreement on a tablet plan starting at $29.99 per month.
The deal was reportedly put in place at least at three retailers in the country, namely RadioShack, Office Max and Best Buy, at least this is what a recent article on pcworld reads.
However, it appears that the price cut was announced officially only at RadioShack, which also confirmed that it would offer the slate at this cost from November 21st, so that users can benefit from the deal all week. Office Max has the Galaxy Tab at $350 too, with a two-year contract agreement with Sprint.
However, nothing was announced officially on the possible availability of this offer at Best Buy, though rumor has it that, in case there would be a price cut for the tablet PC at this retailer, it would involve both the Sprint and the Verizon variant.
The Android 2.2-based Galaxy Tab sports a 7-inch touch screen, a 1GHz application processor, 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 16GB of internal memory, support for up to 32GB of additional storage space via microSD memory card.
