Mobile phone carrier Vodafone UK is expected to soon add to its offering the next generation tablet PC from Samsung, the Galaxy Tab 2, and it seems that the company already hinted at the possible landing of this device on its airwaves soon after it would be made official at the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona, Spain.

Samsung was long rumored to plan making an official announcement on the next generation Samsung Galaxy Tab at the event, and it seems that things as good as confirmed.

Moreover, Vodafone UK is almost certain to plan adding the new device to its Android lineup as soon as Samsung decides to bring it to shelves, at least this is what a recent post on its Facebook page might suggest.

“There are some great Android smart phones in the pipeline - Nexus S, Xperia Play and LG Optimus 3D - with more coming to Vodafone soon,” the carrier stated on the said page (via dialtosave.co.uk).

Moreover, the company links to an article that talks about the Honeycomb-equipped Galaxy Tab 2, which further suggests that the device is on its way to the UK market via this carrier.

Of course, nothing was confirmed officially for the time being, nor on the possible launch of this device during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, so we'll have to wait for a formal announcement to be made to learn more on it.

In the meantime, we should have a look at some of the rumored specs for this device, including a dual-core Tegra 2 processor from Nvidia, complemented by 1024MB of RAM.

Rumor has it that the new tablet PC would sport a 7-inch touchscreen display too, just as the original Tab, but that it would actually deliver a higher resolution (it might be a 2048 x 1200 Super AMOLED display).

Other specs would include 3G and WiFi connectivity, 8 megapixel rear-facing photo snapper, a 3 megapixel front-facing camera, 64GB of internal storage, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.
