Last month, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung unveiled the second member of its tablet PC lineup, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, meant to better compete with Apple's iPad device, and some more info on that device's arrival on the market started to emerge. Following the unveiling of a new flavor of the device, that tablet PC model became Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v, and is expected to become available for purchase in various markets around the world on the airwaves of Vodafone.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1v was launched in collaboration with this wireless carrier, who is committed to having it available for its customers in some countries starting with the next month.

Vodafone already confirmed that the tablet PC would be released on its network in the coming weeks in some markets, such as Australia, and should launch it soon in other countries, including Germany and the UK.

“The Galaxy Tab 10.1v remains a Vodafone exclusive and will still be one of the first Android 3.0 devices to launch. We'll announce pricing and availability in due course,” a Vodafone spokesperson stated, Pocket-lint reports.

As stated above, Vodafone Germany too committed to bringing Galaxy Tab 10.1v to its network soon, and specifically stated that it would be the first flavor they plan on releasing now, the one with the Android UI on board, and not the new, thin version.

Once again, Galaxy Tab 10.1v is the initial flavor of the device, not the slim 10.1 tablet PC that Samsung unveiled earlier this week during the CTIA Wireless expo in Orlando, Florida.

The second variant of Galaxy Tab 10.1 should be released on the market sometime in June, and sports the Samsung TouchWiz UI on top of the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, as Vodafone Germany notes in a recent tweet.

Of course, the newer flavor of the device would arrive on these countries as well, though that would happen at a later date. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
