Flexible touchscreen displays are a reality these days, and it might not be too long before the first mobile phones to include them become reality as well.

In the meantime, however, we can only dream of the day when a flexible smartphone will lay in our hands, offering us the possibility to do so much more with it.

Whether it comes to wearing the mobile phone as a watch or placing it on the tablet in various shapes to perform different actions, a flexible screen would enable all these, and some other options more.

Of course, having a flexible screen on it won't be enough, but it is a good start, that's for sure.

Most probably, flexible cases for smartphones, as well as internals that would fit such a device could also make an appearance on the market in the near future, and the coming years could bring to shelves a handset that might resemble the concept device described below.

Coming from designer Heyon You, the smartphone, called Samsung Galaxy Skin, runs under Android, but has much more to offer than the current generation of Galaxy S devices.

The specifications list of this device does not include something out of the ordinary: a fast 1GHz application processor, a 4-inch touchscreen display, 16GB or 32GB of internal memory, or a 1500mAh battery.

The flexible display would deliver an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, while the 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back would be able to shoot videos in high-definition. A front facing camera will be included for video calling capabilities.

Galaxy Skin will also be capable of HD playback, enhanced messaging and communication features, fast Internet browsing, and more.

The specs list shows 3G and 4G capabilities, along with WiFi and Bluetooth, and a built-in GPS receiver. The smartphone would measure 221 x 67 x 8mm.

If you were wondering why the smartphone could be so long, the answer is simple: the bottom and the upper part of the body are made of hard material, and they would house electronic parts than cannot be bent.

Have a look at the images attached to this article to make an idea of the concept phone, and head over to Yanko Design here for more of them and to learn more on the device.
