Next week, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics should make official the next smartphone in the popular Galaxy S series, namely the long rumored Galaxy S5, and some of the phone’s specs appear to have been confirmed.

According to a recent Bloomberg article, the upcoming device will indeed arrive on the market with a 5.2-inch touchscreen display, the same as previous reports on the matter have suggested.

Moreover, the news site claims that Samsung will come with a better camera on the back, as well as with an improved battery.

The most important tidbit that Bloomberg has unveiled, however, is the fact that the upcoming handset might hit shelves with a lower price tag when compared to the previous models in the Galaxy S family.

The info refers to the contract price tag that Galaxy S5 will feature at wireless carriers out there, though specifics on the matter haven’t been provided as of now.

In fact, said report claims that Samsung has yet to provide partner operators with info on the handset’s selling cost, as it is still debating the actual price that will be attached to it.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Galaxy S5 has been rumored lately to arrive on the market with a 5.2-inch screen capable of delivering either a full HD or a Quad HD resolution, while being powered by a new-generation Snapdragon 800 processor.

Moreover, the phone is said to sport a 16-megapixel camera on the back, a front camera for video calling, and 3GB of RAM, the same as Galaxy Note 3 before it.

Samsung Galaxy S5 should arrive on the market with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top right from the start, while also featuring a new version of Samsung’s own TouchWiz user interface.

The company has already set a launch event for the MWC show in Barcelona, where the device is expected to be formally introduced. However, it hasn’t offered an official confirmation on Galaxy S5 as of now.
