South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has been essentially confirmed to plan the launch of a new high-end smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month, none other than the Galaxy S5, but we still don’t know what it will look like.

Courtesy of a new Samsung Galaxy S5 concept phone, however, we can now imagine how the upcoming device might look when compared to the previous handsets in Samsung’s Galaxy S series.

The concept comes from Korean website Moveplayer, and it should not be taken as representing a real device by any means.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 might sport a variety of resemblances with the older handsets in the series, but there’s no confirmation on it looking as the phone represented in the image attached to this article.

Even so, the concept phone does appear to be in line with the design that Samsung is rumored to plan on adopting for the handset, though the homescreen is still present on the front (Galaxy S5 was rumored to ditch it in favor of on-screen controls).

The smartphone’s screen is expected to be of around 5.2 inches, capable of delivering a full HD resolution, while sporting a brand new user interface, known as the Magazine-styled UX at the moment.

As PhoneArena notes, the Galaxy S5 concept is quite realistic, showing a device that is only a bit larger than the Galaxy S4, measuring 144mm in height and 72mm in width.

As mentioned above, the upcoming Samsung flagship handset might look completely different than in the image attached to this article, so keep that in mind when looking at the photo.

In fact, we should note that the rumored lack of a homescreen button on Galaxy S5 might result in the phone featuring the same dimensions as the Galaxy S4, despite the fact that it will sport a larger screen.

The South Korean mobile phone maker will hold a press event on February 24 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and all the necessary details on Galaxy S5 are expected to be unveiled there, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
