Samsung has been long rumored to plan the release of a Galaxy S5 Active smartphone model, supposedly a sturdier flavor of the Galaxy S5 flagship, and a press photo with the phone has made an appearance online today.

The image, available courtesy of @evleaks, shows the AT&T variant of the smartphone, confirming that it will hit shelves with a more rugged design.

Unfortunately, no other details on the device have been provided as of now, though we did get the chance to learn more on it before.

Rumor has it that this phone will be launched with about the same hardware specifications as the Galaxy S5, including the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS on top, though it will be a bit tougher than the already existing smartphone.

While the photo above shows the AT&T variant of Galaxy S5 Active, we do expect the phone to be released via other carriers and in other markets out there as well.

Unfortunately, no specific info on when the mobile phone might be announced has been provided as of now, and details on its pricing are missing as well. However, it might not be too long before Samsung finally decides to lift the veil off it, so stay tuned to learn more info on the matter.
