More owners of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone are currently receiving an update to the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, with users in Australia being the latest to get a taste of it.

Apparently, the OS upgrade is available for download for the owners of unbranded Galaxy S4 devices in the country, as well as for those on the network of Australian wireless carrier Optus.

According to a recent article on Ausdroid, Optus is pushing the new firmware to its users as a 723 MB download. However, it’s yet unknown how long it will take for the software to reach all Galaxy S4 owners at this operator.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the update is set to provide users with a nice range of enhancements over the current platform version loaded on their devices.

In addition to the various new features and performance improvements that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was packed with, Galaxy S4 devices also receive a series of goodies coming from Samsung themselves.

Among these, we can mention added compatibility with Galaxy Gear, as well as support for Samsung KNOX for increased security.

Moreover, the update comes with various changes to the user interface, and also with improvements to the graphics and Bluetooth performance capabilities of the smartphone.

The overall stability of Samsung Galaxy S4 devices was also enhanced as part of this upgrade, and the same happened with the security of the phone.

At the same time, there are various performance improvements that users will enjoy, such as TRIM support and better RAM management.

All in all, this is indeed a nice update to download and install on your Galaxy S4 devices. And, while enjoying its sweetness, you should also be looking forward for the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade that Samsung might start delivering in the first quarter of the next year.
