South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung seems to enjoy increasing popularity of its latest Android-based flagship devices, the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab, on the market in its homeland.

Samsung Galaxy S, the company's direct competitor against the Apple iPhone, managed to sell a number of more than 2.3 million units in South Korea since officially brought to the market there in summer.

The mobile phone was already seen as the fastest selling device on the local market, as it managed to top 1 million sold units in about two months since launch, and it managed to prove that it deserves its title.

However, it should be noted that it was helped by some of its brothers, namely the specific variants Samsung made available in the country for wireless carriers SKT, KT and LG U+.

All in all, the series already topped 2 million sold units, and it managed to do so in about five months since the first flavor landed on shelves in South Korea. This record also makes the Galaxy S family one of the most popular series on the local market.

The company's Corby series managed to sell a number of over 1,600,000 units (cumulative sales), with SHW-A130 hitting 650,000 units, and Nori Series selling about 450,000 units.

Another popular Samsung device on the South Korean market would be the Galaxy Tab, which was launched on shelves only several weeks ago, and which already sold over 100,000 units.

The figure might not seem that impressive at first, but, when compared to the company's estimations that it would sell only 1 million Galaxy Tab units globally before the year's end, it is.

Galaxy Tab already proved more popular than expected in other markets around the world too, and is expected to pass that estimated sales number easily.

During November, the company managed to move a total number of 1.89 million handsets. The figure is a little lower than October.
