Samsung might release the update sometime in November

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is reportedly working on the release of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system upgrade for the owners of Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II devices, with plans to skip the Android 4.2.2 upgrade for both of them.

Apparently, given that the Galaxy S4 Google Edition is set to be among the first devices to receive the upcoming platform upgrade, the company decided to bring the software to the rest of the line as well, although no official confirmation on this has been provided as of now.

However, according to a recent post on temefy.com, an insider from Samsung R&D India suggested that the company might not bring the update to its users before November, regardless of whether it will include Android 4.2.2 or Android 4.3.

Samsung had been confirmed before to be working on the Android 4.2.2 upgrade for the Galaxy S III, as leaked builds featuring this OS flavor emerged online a few months ago, showing some of the features that the handset vendor has packed inside the Galaxy S4.

Previously, Samsung had been said to have pushed the release of Android 4.2.2 due to issues with the TouchWhiz user interface, as PhoneArena notes in a recent post.

However, the launch of Galaxy S4 Google Edition and the release of Android 4.3 source code appear to have determined Samsung to change its plans on the matter.

As part of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade, Samsung’s users will receive features such as Bluetooth LE, a new notifications bar, and Wi-Fi Always Scanning, rumor has it.

Another interesting tip that said insider provided was related to the upcoming Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie OS flavor, which is expected to arrive on Samsung’s Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note III and Galaxy Note II devices.

The release timeframe for the update will be different for each model, it seems, yet specific details on the matter have yet to be provided. Stay tuned for more on this.
