Samsung’s Galaxy S III smartphone is seen as the best phone of the year at the moment, at least this is what the Mobile Choice Awards 2012 unveil.

The handset has been crowned Phone of the Year 2012 earlier this week, leaving Apple’s iPhone 4S behind and showing once again that Android indeed deserves its current leading position on the smartphone market.

A large number of people voted for this device, namely 44 percent of 26,500 readers, proving that the smartphone is indeed as successful as Samsung intended it to be.

“It’s the second year running that a Galaxy handset has faced down an Apple iPhone in the top two for this Award, and as our panel said, Apple’s iOS has missed a trick by not including the live information that makes the Galaxy’s homescreen so compelling,” the team at Mobile Choice notes.
