This Sunday, October 14th, Best Buy plans a sale for the Galaxy S III smartphone in the United States, providing users with the possibility to acquire the high-end device for $100 less than usual.

The promotion will be available on that day alone, the retailer has announced. Apparently, this is the first of many other offers it will have for customers during the holiday season.

“On Sunday, October 14, 2012, Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores nationwide will be reducing the price of the Samsung Galaxy S III,” the retailer announced.

“For this one day, customers will be able to save $100 and stay connected with what is arguably one of the hottest Android smartphones on the market.”

Samsung Galaxy S III was made available for purchase in the United States a few months ago, and is already up for sale at various wireless carriers in the country.

The phone was released with a 4.8" Super AMOLED touchscreen display that can deliver an HD resolution, as well as with a fast 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor inside.

The smartphone also offers 2GB of RAM for increased performance capabilities, as well as 16GB / 32GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

On the back, it sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper with support for full HD video recording. It also features a 1.9MP camera on the front, great for making video calls.

Galaxy S III was launched with support for Wi-Fi and Bleutooth connectivity, as well as with NFC capabilities, built-in GPS receiver, Wi-Fi hotspot, and the usual range of sensors.

Those who flock to Best Buy on Sunday to purchase the smartphone will be able to grab it in two color flavors, namely Pebble Blue and Marble White.
