Australian mobile phone users can now head over to Telstra’s website to place orders on the carrier’s new Galaxy S III 4G smartphone.

Running under Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the device was unveiled with a quad-core processor inside, and is expected to hit shelves only on October 9.

It will provide users with great performance levels and an appealing viewing experience for $0 upfront on the carrier’s $80 per month plan.

“With Telstra 4G you can browse the web like never before, enjoy superfast downloads and stream video with ease in our 4G coverage areas. The large 4.8” HD display makes multitasking easier than ever,” the wireless carrier notes.

You can see the handset on Telstra’s website today, should you like to order a unit for when it becomes officially available.
