Both handsets run under Android and offer LTE connectivity

Mobile phone carrier AT&T has started selling two new handsets on its airwaves, namely the white version of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, along with LG’s Nitro HD.

Both devices arrive on shelves with support for the wireless carrier’s 4G LTE network, and both run under Google’s Android operating system.

The LG Nitro HD can be acquired online for $149.99 with the signing of a two-year contract with AT&T and after $100 online discount, while being available for as much as $599.99 with no contract.

The mobile phone was released with a large 4.5-inch display that can deliver a 720p resolution, as well as with a dual-core application processor with each core clocked in at 1.5GHz.

The specs list of this device also includes 4GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space (a 16 GB microSD card pre-installed).

On the back, the LG Nitro HD packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper with auto-focus and LED Flash, capable of full HD video recording, complemented by a front 1.3MP camera for video calling.

As stated above, the new device arrives with support for AT&T’s 4G LTE network, as well as with HSPA+, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options.

The smartphone is powered by a 1830 mAh battery that can deliver up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 10.8 days of standby time.

The white flavor of Skyrocket lands on shelves several weeks after the original device was made available for purchase at the wireless carrier.

The handset sports a price tag of $149.99 when purchased via AT&T’s website, where it is $100 cheaper. The full retail price for this smartphone was set at $599.99.

The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display that can deliver a 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

It also features 16GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, an 8MP camera on the back, 2MO camera on the front, LTE and HSPA+ connectivity, and the like.
