The release of Samsung Galaxy S II in the United States is getting closer every day, and the fact that the smartphone has just made an appearance on Samsung US' website comes as a proof of that.

Reference to Galaxy S II was already spotted on the said website, but nothing is official announced on the matter for the time being.

However, mobile phone users in the United States interested in the purchase of this device can now head over to the company's website here and sign up to receive updates on its availability.

At the moment, no info on when the Galaxy S II might become available for purchase in the United States emerged, nor on the carriers that might have it available on their offering.

However, some rumors on the matter did emerge, suggesting that we might see the smartphone released as soon as next month through all major wireless carriers in the country.

On the sign-up page, Samsung does make reference to the possibility that more versions of the phone could arrive on shelves in the US soon.

“Global Galaxy S II device shown. Screen images simulated. Appearance of device may vary. Some features may not be available in all areas,” the company notes beneath the phone's rendering.

Some of the rumors suggested that we might see the Galaxy S II launched on Verizon Wireless' network first, and that this would happen on August 12th.

Verizon's support team already confirmed on Twitter that the company would be ranging the Galaxy S II, though no details on when that might happen have been unveiled so far.

AT&T and Sprint were also long rumored to receive the handset, and some photos and details on their specific smartphone flavors also made it into the wild, but official confirmation is yet to arrive.

With Galaxy S II now on Samsung's website, chances are that the official announcement on the handset's release will not be too far behind either, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
