Mobile phone carrier T-Mobile USA is ramping up for the release of a new Android-based smartphone on its airwaves, the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, and more info on the availability and pricing of this device is now available.

Galaxy S 4G, the fastest smartphone on T-Mobile's network, is set to hit the shelves on February 23rd, with a price tag of $199.99 attached to it, upon the signing of a contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

The deal also includes a $50 mail-in-rebate card, and the signing of a two-year contract on a qualifying plan.

Initially, the mobile phone carrier announced that the smartphone would arrive on shelves priced at $149.99 on contract, but it updated the announcement to reflect the actual state of facts.

“The Galaxy S 4G is expected to be available from T-Mobile for $199.99 with qualifying plan on two-year service agreement after a $50 mail-in-rebate card. Taxes and fees additional,” the carrier states in a press release.

The Galaxy S 4G should be capable of delivering theoretical peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps, thus becoming the fastest device on the carrier's network, or “America’s Largest 4G Network,” as they tout it.

T-Mobile will be the exclusive carrier for this smartphone on the US market, providing users with an impressive device, with a 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen display, a fast processor, and great connectivity capabilities.

Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy S 4G would include great entertainment capabilities, such as mobile HD TV through T-Mobile TV, the ACADEMY AWARD Nominated film INCEPTION, or T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik.

“The Galaxy S 4G will be available nationwide through T-Mobile retail stores, online at http://www.t-mobile.com, at select third-party dealers, and at leading national retailers including Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Sam’s Club, Target Mobile locations and Walmart,” the wireless carrier explains.
