Mobile phone carrier Verizon has focused on enhancing the mobile experience that users enjoy when connected to its LTE network, and it seems that those who own a Galaxy S 4 smartphone at the operator will be the first to take advantage of that.

The carrier is working on an upgrade to its LTE network to double the Internet speeds for its users, courtesy of the deployment of AWS airwaves acquired from a group of cable companies last year, and will bring these enhanced speeds to Galaxy S 4 too.

According to Bloomberg, Mike Haberman, vice president of network support for Verizon, explained that the carrier will release a software update for the high-end smartphone to activate the support for AWS frequencies.

Other devices will also be available with support for the new technology, but Galaxy S 4 is the only one that is already available for purchase at the wireless carrier.
