Starting with this week, mobile phone users in South Korea will be able to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Round smartphone, the first device in the handset vendor’s lineup to feature a curved, flexible display.

Made official last week, the mobile phone will feature a price tag of 1,089,000 Won in the country, which would be around $1,000 / €750, SamMobile reports.

Considering that the new device is a first in its category, it does not come as a surprise that it is priced so high, that’s for sure.

Galaxy Round arrives on shelves with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen curved at the sides, as well as with a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside.

Furthermore, it features 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and front camera for video calling. Basically, it is a Galaxy Note 3 with a curved screen.
