14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung’s largest Android-based smartphone to date, the Galaxy Note II, is set to arrive on shelves in the UK as soon as next week.
Today, Samsung Mobile UK has announced that the handset would reach the UK market on October 1st, and that it would be available both through its own Samsung Brand Store at Westfield, Stratford City, as well as via major wireless carriers in the country.
The smartphone comes with a large 5.5-inch touchscreen display, as well as with a 1.6GHz Quad-Core processor packed inside, and with support for HSPA Plus connectivity.
Running under Google’s new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, the new device also brings along the Google Now service with a nice range of appealing features, including contextual search.
“The Galaxy Note II comes with an advanced S-Pen, which together with features such as Air View, S Note and S Planner, make everyday tasks such as annotating documents and sending emails, much easier and more intuitive,” Samsung explains.
“Featuring a 5.55" (141mm) HD Super AMOLED display, content can be seen much more clearly and vividly – plus it's much thinner and lighter so it's much easier to read and view content on the Galaxy Note II whilst on the way to work or out at a business meeting.”
The handset also comes to the market with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, as well as with a 1.9MP camera on the front, enabling users to both record full HD videos and to make video calls while on the go.
The camera also sports Buddy Photo Share, Burst Shot, Best Photo and Best Faces features, for an enhanced experience when shooting still images.
“Plus AllShare Play means content, such as videos, photos, presentations and documents, can be shared with a large group in real-time by connecting the Galaxy Note II to Samsung HD TVs, phones, mobile tablets, laptops, and other consumer electronic devices on the same network,” Samsung continued.
The Galaxy Note II will be released in the UK in two color flavors, namely Marble White and Titanium Grey, and will be available via The Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U as well.
