The new Google phone might be released in November after all

Someone at Best Buy didn't get the memo, that's for sure, as the retailer has included the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus in their next catalog under the name of Nexus Prime.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Galaxy Nexus is the latest Google phone out there, and that it went official at Verizon last month.

While the entire world will receive it as the Galaxy Nexus, Best Buy plans on selling it as the Nexus Prime, at least this is what a recently leaked catalog from the retailer shows.

No official announcement on the matter was made for the time being, and we assume that this might be just a printing mistake, though it's also possible that Verizon would gave the smartphone named totally different from the rest of the world.

As can be seen in the screenshot attached below, available courtesy of Android Central forums, Best Buy also calls the device Samsung Nexus Prime 4G LTE, underlining the fact that it will include support for Verizon's fast data network.

Moreover, the said catalog also shows that all prices are good starting with November 27th, and some suggest that this might also be the day when the new device is set to hit shelves.

However, with Canada getting the smartphone on December 8th and various rumors pointing at the same day as the release date for Verizon, chances are that Nexus Prime will not make an appearance on the market before November is over.

Not to mention that the catalog is due on December 1st, further suggesting that the new Google phone is more likely to arrive on shelves in the United States starting with the next month.

One way or the other, we should wait for an official announcement on the matter to emerge to learn more on this, especially since Best Buy has had its share of blunders with Photoshop.
