South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung and Internet giant Google will reportedly announce the availability of Galaxy Nexus on the Australian market on December 14th.

Samsung has already sent out invites to a press event set for December 14th, during which the company will offer a first look at the new Ice Cream Sandwich-powered smartphone.

Some of the latest reports on the matter suggested that wireless carrier Optus would aim at making the mobile phone available for its customers on December 20th, which seems to be falling in line with the expected launch announcement.

Unveiled back in October, Galaxy Nexus sports a large 4.65’’ screen, a fast 1.2GHz application processor, 5MP camera with HD video recording, 16GB of internal memory, and the brand new Android 4.0 operating system, along with other cutting-edge technologies.
