There have been a lot of rumors around regarding the release of the latest Google phone out there on the airwaves of wireless carrier Verizon, but it seems that things are finally lining up and that users will soon be able to grab the device.

Moreover, enthusiasts are expected to be able to start reserving Galaxy Nexus units starting today, November 29th, at least this is what unofficial confirmation on the matter suggests.

Galaxy Nexus is said to be slated for a December 8th release date at Verizon, while being expected to hit pre-order availability today.

A Verizon customer, unhappy with the fact that Big Red did not launch the smartphone earlier, has contacted the company and was informed that the pre-orders will indeed start today, and that the device will be out in December, ComputerWorld reports.

This is not the first time these dates are mentioned in relation with Galaxy Nexus’ release, though it remains to be seen whether they would actually pan out or not.

Here’s what the aforementioned customer, who goes by the name of Mike Peak, says that a Verizon representative confirmed to him:

"Well Mr. Peak, I can assure you, it won't be long. Preorders are set to start Tuesday (November 29th). And the phone will be released Dec. 8th."

Moreover, he says that he managed to have one Galaxy Nexus device reserved for him at a local store, and that the phone will be in his hands as soon as the sells kick off.

For the time being, however, we should not take this confirmation as a formal announcement from Verizon, simply because it isn’t.

However, it is the closest we have to a confirmation, so we’ll keep an eye out for the official statement from Verizon, which is bound to emerge today, provided that the representative offered an accurate date.
