Galaxy Nexus Tastes Android 4.1.2 at Optus Australia

Users have already started to receive the new update on their devices

Last week, Australian wireless carrier Vodafone announced that the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system was being delivered to its Galaxy Nexus, and it seems that another operator in the country has started to roll out the software, namely Optus.

Users are already reporting that the update has been sent to their devices over-the-air, Ausdroid notes.

As it usually happens with this type of updates, Optus will probably release it in stages, which means that not all owners of a Galaxy Nexus smartphone will receive it right away.

However, chances are that the platform release will arrive on all smartphones in a matter of weeks, if not sooner.

Users will receive a notification on when the software is available for them, but they can also check for it manually, by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Check now.
