Galaxy Nexus, the latest mobile phone that Google and Samsung brought to the market, and the first one to feature the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, can be easily modified to allow the installation of unofficial software.

Google has already designed the Nexus devices to be easily rootable, but the Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit was meant to make this task even easier than before.

With this utility, Galaxy Nexus will be able to easily unlock the bootloader inside the phone, to re-lock it, root and unroot the device, back up and restore apps and data, or flash the smartphone to stock firmware.

Just keep in mind that there are two flavors of the tool available, one meant for the GSM version of Galaxy Nexus, while the other was destined for the LTE-capable version of the device. More info on the utility can be found on the Galaxy Nexus Forum.
