One of the best Google smartphones available on the market, the Galaxy Nexus is now on sale at Verizon Wireless for only $99.99 USD (80 EUR) with a new two-year agreement and a $50 USD online discount.

Android enthusiasts who still want to purchase the Galaxy Nexus should know that this offer is only available online, if they want to take advantage of the $50 USD discount.

Otherwise, the smartphone can be purchased via brick and mortar stores for $149.99 USD (125 EUR) on a two-year term.

According to Verizon, the Galaxy Nexus is “ideal for both digital sophisticates and first–time smartphone buyers, Galaxy Nexus is one of the only 4G LTE smartphones with Android’s latest operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich. This innovative mobile phone will change your perception of what a smartphone can and should do.”

Manufactured by Samsung, Galaxy Nexus is currently powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, but Google already started the Jelly Bean rollout for this device, though Verizon model is not among the first to receive it.

Word is that Verizon is readying a new software update for Galaxy Nexus, which is supposed to fix signal drop issues that some users are experiencing in some regions.

Even though we don’t yet know exactly when the maintenance update is deployed, we can safely assume that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean won’t be pushed until this minor update is rolled out.

Among other interesting features of the Galaxy Nexus, we should mention the dual-core TI OMAP 4460 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, the 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as the 1.3-megpaixel front-facing camera for video calls.

The smartphone also boasts an impressive 4.65-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution and oleophobic coating. Check it out here.
