The carrier will focus on newer models, such as One X and Galaxy S III

Australian mobile phone carrier Telstra has reportedly removed the Galaxy Nexus smartphone from its offering, so as to make room for newer Android models.

Galaxy Nexus, which was made official at the end of last year, is no longer available for purchase through Telstra’s website, but users might still find some units up for acquisition through the carrier’s retail locations.

It’s rather interesting that the carrier decided to remove this device from its offering, roughly half a year after it landed on shelves, and precisely when it started to receive an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

However, it appears that Telstra considers newer models, such as the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III better suited for its customers at the moment.

The wireless carrier has already confirmed that said Google phone was removed from its online store, Ausdroid reports.
