Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is expected to bring to the market in the United States the next Google phone, and confirmation on the matter has just emerged, courtesy of a leaked document from the wireless carrier.

The new device is expected to arrive on shelves in the United States exclusively on the airwaves of Verizon, where it will sport the name of Galaxy Nexus, it seems.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was rumored for Verizon not too long ago, and it seems that the rumor will actually pan out, although there are no specific details available on when the new handset should become official.

The smartphone has just been spotted in the Verizon Device Management system, as the image available courtesy of Droid-life shows. Clearly, this points at the fact that the Google phone will make an appearance on Big Red's airwaves in the near future.

The handset is said to be a Verizon exclusive for only a short period of time, yet nothing has been confirmed on this for the time being.

Moreover, the new device is almost confirmed to arrive on the market with support for the wireless carrier's 4G LTE network, which will certainly make it a great addition to the carrier's 4G lineup of devices.

On the downside, however, the smartphone might not pack support for global connectivity, although the GSM version that will land elsewhere will most certainly include it.

Also, there are concerns that the battery life of the new device might not be that great at all, and that this could have been one of the reasons that determined Samsung to push back the release date for the device by over a week.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus will arrive on the market with the next flavor of Android on board, namely with Ice Cream Sandwich, which should pack features related to both Gingerbread and Honeycomb, making it fit for smartphones and tablet PCs at the same time.
