Galaxy Nexus is the latest Android-based smartphone that has arrived on shelves at Videotron. Today, the smartphone is available for purchase for the wireless carrier’s users both on contract and at full retail.

The first smartphone in the world to run under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, Galaxy Nexus arrives on shelves with a price tag of $149.95 attached to it with the signing of a contract agreement.

However, those who would like to acquire it contract free will be able to do so while getting no less than $599.95 out of their pockets. The smartphone can be purchased today from the wireless carrier’s website.

Launched in November last year, the Galaxy Nexus smartphone is the second Google phone to be manufactured by Samsung.

The device packs a large 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD touchscreen display, along with a 1.2 GHz dual-core application processor and 1GB of RAM for great performance capabilities.

The mobile phone also comes with 16GB of internal memory, along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for 1080p HD video recording.

“Featuring a powerful 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and Android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the Galaxy Nexus lets you browse and download at lightning speed,” Videotron explains.

“Its integrated Google services will dazzle you, but that's not all! The Galaxy Nexus is also the first phone in the world to offer a 4.65-inch edge-to-edge HD Super AMOLED screen. In a nutshell, the Galaxy Nexus offers you a truly exceptional experience.”

On top of these all, there are the services and applications that users of Android 4.0 can enjoy on their devices. Faster browsing, smother multitasking and more appealing gaming are among the features that this handset offers them.

“With Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Android 4.0, everything becomes easier, smoother and more fun. Attractive and a joy to hold, the Galaxy Nexus provides you with a wide range of functions and possibilities.

Shortcuts to Google applications and the camera/video recorder come pre-installed. All you have to do is personalize your home screen to your specific interests.
