South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is reportedly getting ready to replace its i5700 Galaxy Spica Android-based mobile phone with two new devices, dubbed Samsung Galaxy Naos and Galaxy Teos. Both handsets are said to come to the market as variants of the Samsung i5800 handset, and both of them emerged into the wild in France.

The specifications list of the new handsets includes a 667 MHz processor, a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a WQVGA (240 x 400 pixel) resolution, 3-megapixel photo snapper, HSDPA, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity options, aGPS, a microSD memory card slot, and a 1500 mAh battery packed inside. Both mobile phones reportedly pack Google's Android 2.1 operating system with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface thrown over it.

According to a recent article on Unwired View, the Galaxy Naos and Galaxy Teos are two new members of Samsung's i5800 Android family, which already included the i5800 and the i5801 Galaxy Apollo, which emerged in the UK at wireless carrier Orange. The same as Apollo, Galaxy Naos gets to Orange, though in France, while the Galaxy Teos is expected to become available for purchase via other carriers in the country, though sporting the same looks as Samsung i5800.

The Galaxy Naos is set to become available in two color versions, namely black and white, featuring a price tag of 1 cent on select contracts. The phone measures 113.5 x 55 x 12.4 mm and weighs in at 105g. The Galaxy Teos is expected to be slightly different than Naos, measuring 113.5 x 55 x 12.8 and weighing in at 109.7g.

For what it's worth, while the Galaxy S is headed for the high-end of the market, the new i5800 variants are expected to come to shelves as lower end phones. Compared to Galaxy Spica, the new Galaxy Naos and Galaxy Teos feature downgraded specifications, such as a CPU running at 667 MHz compared to the Spica’s 800 MHz, or smaller resolution displays than Spica’s 320 x 480 pixels one.
