Launched nearly two months ago, Nvidia's GTX 460 GPU proved to be quite a hit among manufacturers and regular users alike, so many companies have started building custom designs based on the GF104 core, a picture preview just detailing the soon to be released Galaxy GeForce GTX 460 HOF (Hall Of Fame).

Compared to all the other GTX 460 solutions that are available out there, Galaxy's offering will feature all digital PWM power circuitry as well as a milky-white colored PCB.

Furthermore, the PWM will make use of proadlizers to condition the power delivered to the card, these decoupling devices reducing the number of capacitors required while also significantly reducing radiation noise.

As a result, these should improve the life expectancy of the card as well as allow for higher overclocks to be achieved.

Built by NEC, these are placed on the back of the card, the rest of the power delivery circuitry using a 6+2 phase design that is made of a VT1185M main controller chip, six VT1157SF subsidiary controller chips and a Bussmann CPL power inductor.

Power is supplied via a PCIe 8-pin and a PCIe 6-pin connector, all the PWM chips being cooled by a low-profile aluminum heatsink.

As for the GF104 core, its temperatures are kept in check by a rather hefty aluminum heatsink that uses a copper base and four heatpipes, a 12V 0.45A fan being placed right on top in order to drive the heat away more effectively.

Unfortunately, the Samsung built 0.4ns memory chips don't seem to feature any kind of cooling.

The GF104 core that is used inside the GeForce GTX 460 HOF packs 336 stream processors, 56 texturing units, 32 ROPs as well as a 256-bit memory interface that is connected to a 1GB GDDR5 video buffer.

Compared to the reference GTX 460 1GB graphics card, the Galaxy HOF board has its core clocked at 850MHz (26% over the standard 675MHz) while the memory runs at 1000MHz (4000MHz effective), 100MHz more than the standard design.

Sadly, no details about pricing or availability were released together with this picture preview. (via Expreview)
