And inevitably here comes Galax bringing its GeForce GTX 980 Ti HOF EX WC, WC coming from Water Cooled, and GTX 980 Ti HOF, its air-cooled model.
Putting luxury and "bling" where previously cold steel, or rather aluminum, wrapped the card, Galax introduces the GTX 980Ti to its Hall of Fame (HoF) catalog of modified graphics cards. Previously adding the GTX 970 and 980 models to its HoF, it was inevitable that GTX 980Ti will follow suit.
Featuring an all-white custom PCB, with a 16-phase VRM that draws power from 8-pin PCIe power connectors which are moved slightly to the back, and sporting a full-coverage water block designed by Bitspower, Galax' new fancy HoF WC model will surely turn some heads when it gets released.
The entire build will feature an opaque white top and a white metal back-plate that will shield the internal components, giving the GTX 980Ti the classical HoF look that turns the stock 980Ti into the graphics card equivalent of a Cadillac Eldorado.
A collector's dream
The Galax will probably work in tandem with Diamond Cooling as with the earlier Nvidia models bringing materials like white acetyl top covers for the entire PCB, and nickel-plated full copper for the water block.
While the water-cooled version will have a more unified design, the simple HoF model sports three classical fans that will bring the overclocking of the same 980Ti to apparently the same specs as those of WC one.
Both cards will feature the 2816 cuda cores, 176 texture mapping units and 96 raster operation units coming on the stock versions, and also will come with the same 6 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, but this time overclocked at 7 GHz on reference cards to pump out 336 GB/s bandwidth.
Unfortunately, clock speeds and final prices are not known at the moment.
