Actress and model Gal Gadot is the new Wonder Woman, whether fans like it or not. She will be making her first appearance in Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” sequel, “Batman vs. Superman,” and probably move on to get her own franchise. A new report indicates that this was the plan from the start.

Warner Bros. has big plans for the new Superman (played by Henry Cavill) and they include the slow introduction of more characters who, hopefully, will fare well with the public and will transition in time to their own spinoff standalone films.

The new Batman, played by Ben Affleck, is one such character, as also is Wonder Woman. Because there’s never been a Wonder Woman film, the studio is probably thinking it would be ideal if she made her debut on the big screen riding on Superman’s coattails cape, to put it this way, before she got her standalone film.

A new report suggests that this is indeed the plan, because Gadot has signed on for three movies. One of them is the tentatively called “Batman vs. Superman,” but the other two could be just with Wonder Woman.

“Gal Gadot was interviewed once again on Good Evening with Gai Pines, the top entertainment show in Israel. According to their report, Gadot got locked into a 3 movie deal when she signed on to play Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman. That’s not too surprising, a 3 movie deal is usually the norm in superhero movies, but I don’t think we’ve had confirmation on Gadot’s deal until now,” Batman-News reports.

Below is the interview in question but, useless to say, unless you speak the language, it won’t be of much use to you.

“Good Evening with Gai Pines reported that Gadot will be making $300,000 [€221,500] for her role as Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman. They also revealed that Gadot is scheduled to start filming the Man of Steel sequel in May, which lines up with the production delay that Warner Bros. announced last week,” the report also says.

For a movie of the caliber of “Man of Steel,” Gadot’s salary isn’t much, even assuming her role is just a cameo. On the bright side, this could be seen as indication that Warners is testing waters with her: if public reception of her as Wonder Woman is good, her salary will most likely receive a bump for the second film.

“Man of Steel 2” will be out in theaters in May 2016.
