NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 470 and GTX 480 may be a lot of things, good and not so much, according to reviewers, but they most certainly have a technology that will make them very well suited for use by professionals in the field of video making and converting.

Known as the NVIDIA CUDA technology, this ability lets video adapters easily handle and accomplish video conversions and other such sophisticated tasks. In such applications, however, the adapters require a piece of software that can match their own skills. To provide a complete solution, Gainward has partnered with Japanese company LoiLo and will bundle a trial version of the Super LoiLoScope video editing software with its latest NVIDIA-based products.

Super LoiLoScope supports NVIDIA CUDA technology, which means that it will use the full potential of the built-in CUDA cores to accelerate video processing tasks, such as video playback, video editing and video encoding. Granted, such tasks can be accomplished even by the CPU alone, but with Super LoiLoScope performing the necessary GPU computing, the rate at which they are completed improves by an alleged ten times. Of course, this is unlikely to incite gamers, but will prove most useful for professionals.

The so-called partnership between LoiLo and Gainward will materialize, to begin with, as GeForce GTX 400 Series graphics cards bundled with a trial version of the aforementioned Super LoiLoScope, as well as a special offer for a 25% discount on the full version (normally $88). Considering that only enthusiasts will afford or want the two cards, this added cost is unlikely to be much of a hindrance.

“This is just the first step of Gainward & LoiLo co-branding milestone. In the near future, all CUDA enabled products of Gainward will gear up with innovative and powerful software developed by LoiLo. It is very exciting to see Gainward graphics cards not only used for gaming, further embedded more diverse functions in broadening user’s experiences in every memorable moments,” the press release reveals.

Until the adapters actually start selling (which should be this week), end-users can see both of them in detail here.
