The original creator of the adored Gabriel Knight adventure series Jane Jensen is working on a new Gabriel Knight game. Fans will be delighted to find out that the new project, a remake of Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, will find its way onto computers as well as tablets in mid-2014.

For those that might have forgotten what the game was about, here are a few details. Jensen's classic adventure game from 1993 won numerous awards and had as main character the most charismatic womanizer, Gabriel Knight. It featured a list of voodoo murders as well as a forbidden romance, all taking place in New Orleans.

The remake will still have features from the original, such as a point-and-click interface, the same entertaining and engrossing story, classic adventure-style puzzles and the adored complex characters. Still, numerous improvements have been made.

Under the supervision of Jane Jensen, serving as game designer and creative director, the 20th anniversary update will make the game better than ever. It promises players an all-new remastered soundtrack and high-resolution graphics as well as new voices that have been redone according to Jensen's indications.

This decision was made due to the loss of the original recordings and since stripping the audio from the game did not have the best result, re-recording became a must.

In case players are wondering whether it will be 2D or 3D, it has been announced that the game will have a 3D engine (Unity), but it will seem as if you are playing a 2D game. Minor changes have also been made to the interface in order to avoid certain pitfalls that were extremely annoying in the 1993 classic.

The original vibe of the game is still there, yet several adjustments have been made to help boost the New Orleans flavor.

If gamers want to know more about the soon-to-be-launched remake, they can chat with other fans on its Public Forum or join the Pinkerton Road community. Here you can find out about the latest game news and even get exclusive monthly sneak peeks.

More information concerning the pricing, where to buy it, will soon to come as the game approaches its launch.
