The second development version of the GVFS application for the GNOME 3.10 desktop environment was announced a few days ago, bringing forth various improvements and fixes.

GVFS 1.17.1 brings many improvements for the metadata component, such as: shorter writeout timeout on NFS; new journal is created if it doesn't exist; journal is now stored in $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR for shared NFS home directories; all scheduled writeouts are now flashed on daemon exit; journal short-read has been downgraded to debug.

Moreover, GVFS 1.17.1 is more resistive to broken journal files, the tree re-read is forced after a successful flush, the remaining shutdown infrastructure and call from CDDA backend have been added, and various translations have been updated.
