Individuals from Finland are warned that a SMS spam campaign launched by GTradeInc is making the rounds, claiming to subscribe recipients to unsolicited premium services.

F-Secure informs that CERT-FI released an advisory regarding these scam messages that are apparently received even by users who didn’t provide their phone number in online marketing campaigns.

“Commercial Letter activated. For three ads / week. Price 20e/kk, phone bill will be charged. Cancel at any time for free, print: TXT5 PERU number 17 163,” reads a translation of the SMS.

Experts warn that even the cancelation of the service may be charged.

Recipients of these messages are advised to ignore them because no billing can be done without their approval. If supplementary charges are made, GTradeInc’s actions should be reported to the appropriate authorities.

However, users are recommended to check with their phone companies to ensure that they aren’t in any partnership with GTradeInc.
