As reported earlier, the GNOME developers are hard at work these days releasing new maintenance versions for some of the most important core components of the stable GNOME 3.16 desktop environment, despite the fact that the last point release was announced a while ago.

Therefore, today we can report that the powerful, open-source GTK+ GUI (Graphical User Interface) toolkit has been updated to version 3.16.4, a release that fixes no more than ten bugs reported by users since the previous maintenance of the software, GTK+ 3.16.3.

Among these bugfixes, we can mention an issue with missing borders from windows, a problem with the "Getting printer information failed" message of the GTK Print dialog, miscellaneous test problems, as well as an overlapping issue with GtkPopover due to the main grid.

Moreover, a crash that occurred when attempting to drag a tab from an empty GtkNotebook in the same group has been patched, and a workaround has been added for the "Symbol not found: _gtk_drag_cancel" issues with versions of GTK+ and Quartz bigger than or equal with 3.14.8.

Several other issues have been resolved, and translations updated

The "Failed to set text from markup due to error parsing markup" issue has been addressed, the label of GtkFileChooserButton is now correctly aligned, an SIGSEV error caused by wrong options for the keybindings in CSS instructions has been fixed, and GtkDialog can now be moved when the gtk_dialog_run function of GtkListBox activates the signal callback.

Last but not least, the Czech, Polish, Slovenian, and Occitan language translations have been updated in this fourth maintenance release of the GTK+ 3.16 GUI toolkit for the GNOME 3.16 desktop environment. You can download the GTK+ 3.16.4 sources right now from Softpedia, but it is recommended that you update it from the default software repositories of your favorite GNU/Linux operating system.
