Looks like the GNOME developers are actively maintaining the old stable branch of the GTK+ toolkit, as version 2.24.20 just appeared yesterday, July 4, on the official GNOME FTP servers.

GTK+ 2.24.20 is here with a couple of backport changes from GTK+ 3, for rc files in system configuration directories, in addition to ~/.gtkrc and /etc/gtk-2.0, and for the immodules cache file in libdir.

Four bugs have been squashed in this release, such as missing support for Avahi printers, broken keys and slow text input on quartz, CRLF text is now copied to clipboard, and missing hour time from GtkFileChooser for current date files.

Last but not least, the Polish translation has been updated in this release of the GTK+ toolkit. For more details, please check the official raw changelog.
