The development team at Rockstar and publisher 2K Games say that pre-orders for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V are now live and that they are getting ready to ship the second trailer for the game, which has so far been delayed because of the impact of Hurricane Sandy.

Those who are interested in pre-ordering the new game from Rockstar can do so at their favorite brick and mortar store or using their online extensions.

VG247  has also posted the letter that the two companies have sent to various stores, talking about the second trailer and about pre-orders.

It seems to imply that a second trailer for Grand Theft Auto V should be launched very soon, giving fans of the franchise more information about both the story and the gameplay of the series.

GTA V has been officially announced in late 2011, after months of speculation, but the development team at Rockstar is famously secretive and tends to only give out information about its titles close to actual launch.

Fans have speculated about what the game might offer since then, with the only hard information offered being the location: the city of Los Santos and his surrounding area, which is based on real-world Los Angeles and the South California communities that surround it.

GTA V will use the same open-world structure as previous entries, but Rockstar has suggested that it will introduce more story-based elements to create a more interesting living city.

Grand Theft Auto V will be offered on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony during spring 2013, which probably means May, given the previous launch schedule of the company.

It’s interesting to note that Rockstar has not talked about a PC version of the game, but it might be revealed at a later date.
