Gamers need to use only a certain range of characters

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is now live for gamers who have not picked up the home console version of the Rockstar title, but some players are already experiencing problems and it seems that a full fix might take some time to be deployed.

An official Rockstar Support article explains that unusual characters included in the Windows username are not supported and that gamers might get an error message stating that "The Rockstar update service is unavailable (code 1)."

Another reported problem for GTA V on the PC has the game hanging when players are trying to get an update.

A fix is at the moment in development at Rockstar, but there is no information on when it might be delivered.

Those who want to play as soon as possible can use a workaround created by the development team, which involves creating a new Administrator User Account for Windows that uses the supported characters.

Rockstar adds, "Please note that simply renaming your current User Account will not correct this issue. Once your new account is created (or if you already have an account that only uses these characters) we recommend you restart your PC and log in with that account before starting or continuing with the installation process."

GTA V comes with new feature to the PC

The game might have some early problems, but the majority of players seem to be able to download or unlock their pre-loads without any major issues.

The PC edition of the title is designed to be the ultimate version of the open world experience created by Rockstar.

The company is saying that it is introducing new textures for players to use, more pedestrians and more cars, and a lot more content for the radio.

A new Rockstar Editor is also included, allowing gamers to create videos with a range of effects and then share them with the community.

The team has said that only very powerful PCs will be able to run the title using 4K resolution and 60 frames per second.

There are plans to introduce more content for the Online mode of GTA V before the end of the year, and rumors are also talking about a new single-player expansion coming.
