Video game developer Rockstar has confirmed that it is planning to re-launch the classic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on October 26 of this year on the Xbox Live marketplace with a host of improvements in order to celebrate the ten-year anniversary since the title was first introduced on the PlayStation 2 home console.

The new version of the game is designed to introduce 720p resolution, a better draw distance and support for Achievements, with a full list of the ones that gamers are able to earn now offered on the official site of the company.

Gamers who explore every nook and cranny of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be able to discover no less than 11 additional secret achievements.

Rockstar states, "The Games on Demand version of San Andreas is not compatible with the Xbox Originals version. Save files will not transfer from Xbox Originals. Owners of the Xbox Originals version will still have access to the old version on their consoles and through their download history, with the option to purchase the new version to experience the added features on a new save file."

A rumor about a re-release of the game appeared yesterday and some fans believed that the new features added to the title would be more extensive.

Rockstar is already celebrating the 10 year anniversary of San Andreas by launching 10 new verified jobs created by the community for the Online mode of GTA V, which seek to replicate the type of experience offered by the classic title.

Rockstar continues to work on GTA V

San Andreas might be briefly celebrated by the developers at Rockstar, who are focused on their most recent title at the moment, with GTA V set to be launched on November 18 of this year on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

Gamers can also choose to wait until January 27 of 2015 in order to get the open world experience on the PC.

The new versions are designed to offer improved graphics, more traffic for gamers to move through, improved foliage for trees and an enhanced damage model for all involved characters.

At the same time, Rockstar is continuing to work on more content for the Online mode and fans are hoping that more information and a launch date will soon be offered for the much awaited Heists update, which has been rumored since spring.
